Perfectly Cooked Baked Rice

1 cup long grain brown rice

1 3/4 cup boiling water (or broth)

1/2 teaspoon salt or salt-free seasoning (optional)

1 Tbsp butter, margarine, or ghee (optional)

  1. Preheat oven to 375F. Place rice in 2 quart casserole dish.

  2. Add salt or seasoning or butter if using.

  3. Pour boiling water over rice & cover casserole dish with lid or foil. Bake for 25 minutes covered.

  4. Remove from oven & allow to sit for 5 minutes.
